Johnson Imaging successfully completes a large archiving project for York County Heritage Trust.

Johnson Imaging Systems, Inc recently completed a large archiving project for York County Heritage Trust.  York County Heritage Trust received a grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission that funded the photographing of almost 2,000 original architectural drawings dating from the 1880's to the 1930's.  Johnson Imaging Systems, Inc. employed their Opti-Copy camera system to photograph and produce an 8½" x 11" negative and positive of each drawing.

Kimberly Clements, Johnson Imaging Systems' Vice President, said, "Our Opti-Copy camera is one of the few remaining cameras of its type still in operation.  The camera just about completely eliminates line shifting and it is accurate to 2/10,000 of an inch.  The camera was manufactured specifically for reproducing line drawings and to this day it remains the preferred tool for this type of work."

The total project cost was $28,564, with $10,975 coming from PHMC and $17,589 in matching funds coming from the trust.
